2. Take Doña Ana exit 9.
3. Head west on NM 320 for 2 miles until you reach NM 185.
4. Turn right on NM 185 and head north for ½ mile to Shalem Colony Road.
5. Turn left onto Shalem Colony Road and head west to Rocky Acres Road.
6. Turn right onto Rocky Acres Road.
7. After ¼ mile, turn left onto Permian Trackways Road and continue to parking lot.

DISTANCE is 3 mi.

ELEVATION GAIN is negligible, though there is some up and down.

FEES: None. Of course, if you carpool, please compensate your driver for gas!

DURATION: Finish by late morning/early afternoon.

SKILL LEVEL is reasonably beginner friendly,

It was a fun trip. Could you let me know how I can upload the photos taken today?

If you go to the Meetup page that shows the hike (in the "Past" tab) you should see a graphic under the title, on the right side. The graphic shows a pile of photos. Under that, there is a word, "Upload". Click on that. In fact, I just uploaded a photo that shows where it is. It is photo number 17. When you click on "Upload" you have to find the photos on your computer. (It works best if you have Adobe Flash installed and working on your computer, which you probably do have.) After you click, a dialog box comes up. Find the folder with the photos and open that. Click on one on the photos, then press control-A (on WIndows or Linux, I don't know about Mac). That selects all the photos in that folder. Click "Open" and it should work. It takes a while, depending on how many photos and how large they are.

Steven thanks for organizing this hike. It was not easy for me to find the fossils. Luckily we made it to the museum and got a better understanding of the area. AWESOME!
