Needs a location

The Organ Mountains' Rabbit Ears are one of the more distinct rock formations in the mountain range. Unfortunately, they don't look like rabbit ears until you're up next to them — where this hike will take you!

We'll start from Baylor Canyon Road, go to the Topp Mine Hutt/Mine House, up to the Hayner/Ruby mine, and upwards towards Rabbit Ears Plateau. Should be gaining some 2000 ft, and 6–7 mi roundtrip.

Several people (including myself) have wanted to go earlier to beat the heat and get better photography light: to that end, we're leaving at 6:40 am. We'll take it slow on the way up and take a nap at the top waiting for the other group.

Notice: This trail becomes difficult after the mine, and it will be very hot Saturday. There is little/no shade. Bring as much water as you can. Feel free to turn around at the mine (4 mi roundtrip) or wherever else you feel comfortable.
