Living History Hike at Dripping Springs Natural Area

Come and enjoy a three mile hike up to the ruins at Dripping Springs and meet characters from the past along the trail including Van Patten, Pat Garret, miners, cowboys and more. This hike will take approximately two hours. This is an annual event that is hugely popular. This would be the first time after the area has been designated as a national monument.

The hike is on very well maintained trail, a mile and half one way. The hike will be guided by a character, you will be guided along the trail to other characters who are setting up shops for a very short summer evening, and they will keep you entertained.

This is a very easy hike.

The parking in the visitor center could be crowded. That's why we are meeting at 6:00 pm at Milagro's to carpool in.

And of course, you can meet the group at the visitor center if you choose. But please comment so when you sign up, so other hikers won't wait for you in vain at Milagro's.

See you there!

Thanks Steve for the announcement of Living History hike - a dusk hike at Dripping Springs with historical characters telling tales, vinegaroon and rattler hurry away. Thank you rangers and characters: Ghost of La Cueva, Miners, Cowboys, Indian Woman, Colonel Van Pattern and young ladies playing violin and offering grapes. Glad to see John, Jackie, Jesus and Aaron, etc. Crestfallen being marked the unattended.
