Right at sunset, when the golden finger of the sun touches the Rocks of La Cueva, the magic moment arrives for a photographer. Some local professionals/enthusiasts come back here on regular basis, to catch that magic moment, that exact dreamy look of the rocks, the inviolable, royal rocks, the hue of the halo that wraps around the rocks that you cannot even dream of.
This evening, there will be some photographer showing us the ropes of cameramanship (that's a word I just created), a golden chance to learn something and meanwhile have fun.
Come have an evening stroll with us in the beautiful Dripping Springs, help with your digestion, cool yourself down with the cold air coming down from the Organ peaks, enjoy the sunset. If you happen to have a camera of any sort (smartphone, anyone?), shoot some photos. And meet park ranger, one of the hosts of this event, McKinney Briske.
The hike is extremely easy two miles in the very well maintained park area (now part of the Organ Mountains and Desert Peaks National Monument).
Meet us at Milagro at 6:30pm for carpool, or 7:00pm at La Cueva Trail Head - Dripping Springs Natural Area.
