Valles Canyon

Valles Canyon is north west of Las Cruces and only about 12 miles from the airport. According to Greg Magee "this is a moderate 5.5 mile hike with little elevation gain." Valles Canyon is a tributary to Broad Canyon and where the two intersect is the turnaround point. Las time we tried this one we almost got rained out. I've done it since and it's a nice little hike for a short Sunday hike.

Great day - front to back, top to bottom, and beginning to end. It was so good to meet all of you - hope to see you again. Petroglyphs - just up some remote canyon! Lots of scenic variety. Thank you so much.

Steven, Is this on a trail or off trail?

Joseph, Thanks for the effort, but it would not open. Although this is off trail, I think I've hiked this before . Isn't the start across grazing land, then the canyon? Not much elevation gain?

That is correct, graving cattle in the first part, then a rough jeep road, then an arroyo that most likely will be dry.

      grazing, not graving
