Soledad Canyon/Bar Canyon

This is a cross posting of an event with El Paso Hiking Group. I copy-n-pasted the original description as follows: "This is a relatively easy 3-4 mile loop hike in the Organ mountains east of Las Cruces. . We will enjoy scenic views of the Organ Mountains, see the ruins of a historic homestead, view a waterfall, view Chimney Rock. A good hike for beginners and intermediates as well as experienced. The length of the hike will be 2-3 hours. Bring: 2-3 liters of water, snacks, good walking shoes, Contact Person: Carol Brown[masked]

Driving directions: I-10 west toward Las Cruces, then I-25 North, take Exit 1--University, turn right onto University Road, which eventually becomes Dripping Sprngs Road, then Turn Right onto Soledad Canyon Road (watch for a brown sign that says Talavara, and turn here), in half a mile +/- the pavement turns left, stay on the pavement heading toward the mountains, when the pavement ends, keep going and the dirt road ends in the parking area. For folks from Las Cruces, we will meet at 8:00am at Milagros Coffee and carpool to Soledad Canyon/Bar Canyon parking lot. We will meet El Paso group 8:30am in the trailhead parking lot. If you choose to meet us at the trailhead parking lot at 8:30am, that's perfectly fine. Please comment here though, that way we do not have to wait for you at Milagros for nought.

Questions or concerns, contact Yubao @[masked]. Otherwise, see you at Milagros at 8:00am, or trailhead parking lot at 8:30am.
