no gps track. it is short andI could bring you up again if you wanted to. No trail to speak of and no signs other than the one on the gate where we started from, but it is on WSMR the entire time.

Did anyone save a GPS track? Was there a trail or any no trespassing signs posted? (AFAIK this entire hike was on WSMR property)

Great hike! Beautiful sunrise! Wish I was in better shape and could have made it to the top. I'll start working on that. Had a great time!! Can't wait to hike with Justin, Andre and Renee again!

Good hike! Pretty mild terrain for the first half although fairly steep youre walking up a dirt road. Once past the towers it gets a little technical, but easily enough done. Once you reach the granite things get a little tricky. Some sharp jagged edge boulders pretty much litter the way up to the summit. My dog made it all but a couple feet to the summit but it tested her limits. Good climb, Enjoyed the company too. I'd hike with this crew anytime!

Andre, I'll be happy to do the southern ridge.

i was thinking of taking the southern ridge. it seems shorter and easier to follow and closer to the edge of the WSMR limits. Like Justin said I imagine we'd be back by 9 at the very latest

I've never hiked this climb, but according to the research I've done, it is listed as a 1-1.5 hour climb. I'd expect to hang out at the summit for a little while, grab some photos of the sunrise, and then a 45min or so descent. Thats just guessing, but should give you a rough idea.

Renee, Yes, that's the K-Mart. For whatever reason it's listing that address.

Sunrise is scheduled for 6:02 AM. I'm not sure what Andre had planned as far as length of stay. I'm flexible.. Did you have any specific time you HAD to be back in LC?

I'll take her as far as she's able too. She's a pretty tough girl. I've got no issues for a 5am meet at K-Mart. I too would prefer to do the climbing in cooler temps as I'll be carrying water for me and the dog. (She's lucky her pack is unserviceable! She usually carries her own water.) Did you have a specific route in mind? I was doing some poking around on the web and found: http://web.nmsu.edu/~amato/ingrahamguide/San_Agustin/San_Agustin_master.html

I thought we could take the E. Ridge.

i'm not sure if the summit is dog friendly but it may be doable if she's young and a good climber. I suggest we meet at 5 am at Kmart. Although this is a short hike I don't want to be out in the heat for too long and it would be nice to see the sunrise from the ridge if not the summit

I just suggested we meet at the K-Mart parking lot off North Main St and proceed from there. I'm open for others, but this location worked well for the Agguire Springs meet we had not long ago.
