This is a late notice to a very strenuous hike... we will be following T104, T103 up through Alamo Canyon then Caballaro Canyon to West Side road, then connect to T109, Alamo Peak trail, for the ascent to the Observatory. This hike will have accumulated gain of 6,000', and the top 2,000' of the hike may be in snow. 20-21 miles... the snow is likely shallow, and may even be slushy (?). I suggest carrying along overshoes and poles for the upper section. This hike requires a steady pace to cover the mileage on these shorter days. It may be cold on top? Great bit of exercise!
