City of Rocks State Park
It's finally cooling down, so let's go visit City of Rocks. It's almost 35 million years old, formed when a volcano exploded 1,000 times hotter than the Mt. St. Helens eruption in 1980. Lots of unusual shaped rocks. There are many trails and you can just climb among the rocks, too. (Courtesy of a "Bark in the Park") The website says a day use charge of $4, but not for hikers or bicyclists. So be prepared to pay $4. Bring layers depending on what the weather will be like, water, lunch if you plan to stay awhile. Hope to see you all there.
