We banked our calories hiking, then spent them on ice cream :)

Mmm, no, that's not right at all… Take University Avenue/Dripping Springs Road east from I-25, go past the Farm & Ranch Museum. You'll be nearing some new construction w/ street lights, etc. To the left will be the new extension of Sonama Ranch Boulevard, and to the right will be a gravel roading leading to the Sunset Parking Lot. There's a large picnic building there, you can't miss it. This isn't more than 1 or 2 mi outside of town (vs. the instructions you posted, which is some 15 mi)

    Does this look correct?
Directions: From I-25, travel east on University Avenue. Continue past A-Mountain (Tortugas Mountain)
and the Talavera neighborhood until the paved surface ends. Travel another 1.8 miles on the dirt road
(which is now Dripping Springs Road) and take the only right turn. Follow this several hundred yards into the trailhead parking lot.

I'm unsure of how to get to the Tortugas Mountain Sunset Parking Lot. I usually park around Geothermal drive and the map seems different from my usually A mountain parking.
