Yes. We are doing it again. Awfully difficult hike but the reward... Well... You have to be there to see with your own eyes what is there, pretty obvious.

We will start at 5:30 am at Baylor Canyon Road (NOT inside Dripping Springs Natural Area) so we don't need to wait or get back before BLM gate closing times.

We are going to take the same route we did last time.

Prior to the hike, some volunteers are going back and trim the overgrowth on the trail below the Narrows. Anybody is interested in being part of that also please let Samat or Yubao know.

Distance: About 10 miles.

Duration: About 10 hours.

Elevation gain: About 3000'.

Difficult level: Extremely difficult; not beginner friendly; if you haven't much of hard hiking recently, think again about this hike.

Pet friendly: NO.

Meet at:

Las Cruces: 5:30 am, Modoc Mine Road, off of Baylor Canyon Road. From Interstate 25, take exit 1, head east on University Avenue, continue east as it turns to Dripping Springs Road. When the pavement ends, keep going on the gravel road until right before the paved road begins again. To your left, take Baylor Canyon Road north. The road will curve right and then left; after it curves left, look for a different dirt road to the right. Turn onto the dirt road and park where appropriate. See map (OpenStreetMap (http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=32.34515&mlon=-106.61174&zoom=16&layers=M) or Google Maps (https://maps.google.com/maps?q=32.34515,-106.61174&hl=en&ll=32.34547,-106.611736&spn=0.015445,0.011544&sll=36.765912,-108.189675&sspn=0.234327,0.184708&t=h&z=16)) which indicates the start of Modoc Mine Road. Park where appropriate; you may not be able to get to the point on the map with your vehicle.
