"The fact of the matter is that this world is not our home. We are travelers, passing through. We came from our previous life, and in a few years, or a few days, we shall move on to our next life."
Usually when we die, we have no control over the process, and so our mind is thrown into another rebirth without us having any choice in the matter.
Buddha gave extensive teachings on the death process, and how to use awareness of our death to live a more full, joyful and meaningful life.
