In ordinary life, we often confuse love with desirous attachment. This misunderstanding can lead us to experience pain and disappointment in our relationships. However, true love never causes pain; it can only bring happiness. Why? Because pure love in fact arises from a profound understanding of our interdependence and interconnection with others. With this knowledge, we will free ourselves from painful, self-grasping attachments and cultivate a more expansive empathy and love for all. As a result, we will experience joy, harmony and purpose in our lives.
In this course, we will explore Buddha’s practical and timeless advice on freeing ourselves from attachment while nurturing a pure love for everyone we encounter.

Gen Kelsang Tonglam is the National Spiritual Director of Kadampa Buddhism for East Asia and the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Hong Kong.
