Meetup #38 - Custom framework design: a case study + 2022 retrospective

📣 Custom framework design: a case study
Aki will tell us about io-gui, a side project he has been developing for a long time. It's a custom framework he started developing between other jobs, but now he is focusing on it.

He'll tell us about the motivation and background story (for example, an app he wants to develop using io-gui). Then he'll walk us through the origin story and show us some older versions. And he'll finish with the technical show-and-tell: he'll show some patterns he is using, solutions he picked, explain why they selected them, etc.

🦸‍♂️ Aleksandar, also known as Aki, is a creative software developer with a diverse range of experience, including visual effects, computer graphics, web development, and software engineering. He studied game development at Savannah College of Art and Design and has worked for companies such as EA Games, Pixar, Lucasfilm, Google, and multiple startups. Currently, he is working on a hands-on software engineering research project.

📣 Retrospective and New Year's resolutions
It's that time of the year typical for reflections and desires to done last preparations for future successes. In this talk Dejan will share some thoughts on the passed time this year in our industry, give some brain food in relation to interesting topics that could shape our New Year's resolutions. In addition, the goal is to sparkle a discussion with Ask me anything section so we can validate our ideas and sentiments regarding the topics that are dear to our harts in the software industry.

🧙‍♂️ Dejan is a member of the JS Belgrade meetup from our first meetup 8 years ago. Most of you already know him, but for all of you that don't know Dejan, he is currently Engineering Manager for Experimentation Platform at Glovo in Barcelona. Almost traditionally, we close the year with Dejan's presentation.
