Chinese hairsticks / hairpins have been part of Han Chinese culture since the Qin dynasty, crafted from jade, gold, silver, carved wood, tortoiseshell, bone, and more.

They symbolised elegance, adulthood, love, and commitment.

At age 15, girls received a hairstick during their coming‑of‑age ceremony.
During engagements, a woman gifted her fiancé her hairstick as a promise.
After the wedding, the groom returned it by placing it back in her hair.

Now you can learn to make your own — with a modern twist.

All tools, materials, and guidance are included.

You’ll learn:

• Choosing your hairstick components — petals, beads, crystals, chains, and more.
• Pre‑designing your layout before assembly.
• Weaving petals into floral shapes.
• Making chains and adornments using jump rings and clasps.
• Attaching flowers to the hairstick.
