VR FILM SHOWCASE:
Bright Shadows- Michael Catalano
Inspired by the abstract visual music animators of the early to mid-1900's, Bright Shadows is an 11 minute computer generated animation of dynamic, colorful abstractions choreographed to instrumental music. It is comprised of seven distinct movements with unique emotional tones that are brought to life with high-quality lighting and shading techniques and rendered in stereoscopic 3D.
CineChamber VR - Steve Mason & Naut Humon
A VR simulation of the CineChamber, a physical surround cinema theater and AV platform designed for the Recombinant Media Labs. This new implementation showcases signature surround films by Ryoichi Kurokawa, Eggbert Mittelstadt, Biosphere, and many others.
DMZ : The Forbidden Zone - Hayoun KWON
Produced by InnserspaceVR, this 360 CG stereoscopic documentary is inspired by the testimony of a former South Korean soldier named Kim. It gives us access to the demilitarized zone between South and North Korea. This journey drives us through Kim’s memories of a scouting mission through "no man’s land," a place where people are forbidden, a place where nature has totally reclaimed its rights.
