๐ŸŽฌ View Transition APIs & ๐Ÿ” JS OpenTelemetry

Details

After a break, we are back with a new issue of Karlsruhe JS. With two amazing talks, some cold drinks, and pizza ๐Ÿ•

๐Ÿ“ฃ Call for Speakers
Have something interesting to talk about? We are looking for speakers for the upcoming meetups. Please send us your talk proposal to mail@karlsruhejs.org!

TALK #1: ๐ŸŽฌ View Transition API and scroll-driven animations: game changers for hybrid app development โ€“ Sascha Lehmann, Consultant at Thinktecture AG
Web APIs, particularly Project Fugu, have been bridging the gap between progressive web apps (PWA), hybrid development approaches, and native apps. These new APIs allow for the realization of intricate animations, such as container transforms, with minimal effort using CSS. Sascha provides us with an overview of these APIs, offering insights on how they can be effectively utilized in projects and highlighting their limitations.

TALK #2: ๐Ÿ” OpenTelemetry and JavaScriptโ€‹: from Browser to Node to Serverless โ€“ Michele Mancioppi, Head of Product at dash0
In this talk, we first introduce OpenTelemetry in general. Then dive into Javascript, and then see what works well and what not so much in Node.js and Javascript browser-side. If time allows, we will also cover using Node.js in various AWS compute services, specifically AWS Lambda, Amazon ECS, and Amazon EKS.
