What we’re about

This is an established group which hosts teachers from Tibet and holds an annual retreat in Hawaii.
These visiting teachers have led us on pilgrimage in China and Tibet, as well as American retreat grounds on the mainland.  We gather together monthly in Honolulu to practice meditation.

Everyone is welcome. While profound, the teachings are clear and accessible to newcomers.  The group is small enough that the connection can be very personal.

Khentrul Lodrö Rinpoche is the Abbott of Mardo Tashi Choling Monastery in Tibet.  He has been traveling annually to teach us in Hawaii for over a decade.

We lead meditation groups in the prisons.  You are welcome to join us.  Initially, you might just like to come along for a visit to see how it goes.  The next step is brief training/orientation from held at OCCC for volunteers.  You can always partner with another volunteer when you go to lead a group.  We also offer 1:1 sessions with inmates, providing compassionate listening.  This is under the auspices of the prison chaplain, who screens requests from inmates for this services.
