Kayak Support for the Lighthouse Swim!

This is not a Kayaking the Liquid Skies event but we are providing swim support for the Lighthouse swim.

The Lighthouse Swim across the Hudson supports swimmers 3 miles from Nyack to Sleepy Hollow. Swimmers must complete the swim in 3 hours or they will be taken out of the water. There will be jetski and motorboat support as well. Kayakers start in Sleepy Hollow and paddle 3 miles across to Nyack before the start of the swim. The swim raises money to support Feeding Westchester and other local charities.

There will be a Water Safety Presentation scheduled prior to the event, via Zoom. Once your are signed up with the Lighthouse swim link below they will notify you.

Kayakers must be experienced to complete the 6 mile paddle (3 miles ea way) and know how to rescue swimmers. You must have your own kayak and gear and know how to assist/self rescue yourself & other kayakers. Bring a cart or wheels if you have them as its a long carry from the parking lot to the water. Bring your radio for communication if you have 1 or stay near someone that does so you can hear the instructions.

We will meet at 6:15 am in the parking lot at Kingsland Pt. park to register, get our T- shirts and be ready to paddle across the Hudson at 7:00am. That will give us 2 hours to get to Nyack and be ready for the start. If you have a radio, please bring it. There is no fee for kayakers but a donation is helpful to the cause.
