PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE SIGNING UP!
Please be there early to be in the water at 11:45 am. We will paddle south and enjoy the scenery and foliage. Tides at Verplanck (Tarrytown): Low 1:19 pm, 0.26', Hi 7:02 pm, 3.54', ebb 12:55 pm -1.6kts. Sunset 4:51 pm, moon Waxing Gibbous, We may stay on our side of the river to Croton for a break or cross the Hudson to stop at Haverstraw Bay Park for a stretch and break. Tides at Haverstraw: Hi 7:44 pm, 3.41'; Lo 2:07pm 0.10'. Depends on the wind and weather. Approximate distance on this trip 6-8 miles. Can extend if conditions permit and group willingness. We will have river assist on the way back.
Water temp 61F. Please dress for immersion- this is cold shock weather: wet/dry suits necessary, neoprene boots, skirts, gloves etc. PFD's must be worn and fastened at all times. Bring a change of clothes in a dry bag and take it with you. Pack water, lunch snacks, sunscreen anything you need for a day trip. You should know how to assist/self rescue.
