Texas Gulf Coast Kayak Symposium - NOT A LIQUID SKIES EVENT

Hi folks! Yeah, I don't post much here any more because I live 9 hours away now, but I got this email from some folks down in Texas. Looks legit, so I figured I'd post it here if anyone is interested. Cost is actually pretty good; five days of small-group instruction for the price; not sure if lodging /food/equipment is included.

We are excited to invite your organization and its members to participate in the inaugural Texas Gulf Coast Sea Kayak Symposium, taking place in Galveston, Texas, from March 2–6, 2026.

My name is Constantin Platon, Kayak & Canoe Instructor with Kayaking Texas, and host of the symposium. A symposium poster is attached as a PDF. We would be deeply grateful if you would consider sharing this event with your membership. We’d also be happy to offer a private live Zoom call for you and your members to learn more about the Texas Gulf Coast Sea Kayak Symposium and ask questions directly.

This five-day immersive training is tailored to participants’ interests, building skills and confidence while showcasing the very best paddling opportunities along the Texas Gulf Coast—from witnessing the incredible diversity of coastal birds, to the chance to see alligators in the Trinity River Delta and dolphins in Galveston Bay, with routes ranging from calm shorelines to rolling waves out in the ship channel. There will be something of interest for every paddler, with a couple of options to choose from each day.

The symposium has a 30-seat capacity and will feature six outstanding ACA instructors, along with three distinguished speakers—each of whom has published one or more books relevant to paddling in Texas.

Participants will be based in a large Airbnb cabin, with additional individual lodging options available nearby. We provide a fully outfitted fleet of premium sea kayaks, airport pickup and daily transportation, and most meals are catered.

We truly appreciate your support in helping spread the word about this unique paddling opportunity—one of the few available nationwide during a time when much of the U.S. is still in winter. Galveston is an affordable, welcoming, and vibrant off-season destination, easily accessible via two major Houston airports. Most round-trip flights are under $500 when booked early.
