1st Launch The Great Swamp, 2nd attempt

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE POST BEFORE SIGNING UP!

Our 1st paddle of the season, the Great Swamp in Brewster. The swamp has turtles, beaver dams, many birds and hopefully we can spot a beaver. It is a very peaceful place to paddle to enjoy nature.

Please be ready to be in the water at 11:30 am so get there early to park and get your boat to the water, wheels/cart helpful. The air may be warm but the water is still cold, so dress appropriately wet/dry suits, skins. Pack a change of clothes in a dry bag include a polar fleece top and put them in a dry bag in your hatch. All boats over 10' welcome, kayaks, surf skis, canoes, SOT's, no inflatables. Beginners welcome, provided you meet the above parameters.

Please note the launch is across the street from the Green Chimneys school, at the back of the parking lot. You can't drive directly to the water, you must walk or wheel your boat down from the parking lot. We can help each other carry them.

There is a porto-potty. Bring lunch, water etc anything you need for a day trip. Everyone is responsible for themselves and should know how to assist/self rescue. NO PETS are ever allowed on LS kayak outings. We're not sure how far we can go depending on how many trees are down so please be able to paddle at least 6 miles or you can wait at the lunch spot and we'll get you on the way back. The water levels are high so we may make it to the Rt 22 bridge. Those who want a shorter paddle can wait at the lunch spot for us.

Everyone must sign a waiver. Please only sign up if joining, no-shows will automatically be put on a wait list and only allowed if there is room in future events. Be kind!
No rentals available, you must have your own boat, kit, paddle, pfd.
