New location to launch: Limited to 7 cars.
Please get there early to park, change and be ready to launch at 11:30 am.

This meetup is now closed, if you want to go please call me ASAP to get on the list.
This is a very scenic paddle of islands, a light house, shore birds depending which direction we go. We may crossover to LI, Sands Point beach. In the past we saw dolphins & occasionally seals. Please be flexible, conditions determine where we go once we're out in the sound. Tides at City Is: Low 8:14am, 0.1', Hi 2:13pm, 8.1', sunset 8:11 pm, moon waning gibbous.

Please note location change: Our good friend Jerry has invited us to launch from the beautiful Kayak Touring Club in City Island. We have to pay a $7.00 guest fee which is cheaper than parking at Orchard Beach. The touring club, has a beach launch, a clubhouse with showers, coffee & cola. They have washing stations for our boats so you can go home with a clean boat. Unload your kayak at the entrance and we'll help ea other get them in the club. Parking is in the street, should be OK on Sunday morning.

Intermediate paddlers only please, This is not for beginners, sea kayaks 14' minimum. No SOT's, SUP's, Inflatables, rafts, or pets - surf skis OK. You should be able to paddle 10+ miles in a day at a pace and know how to paddle with waves, winds, wakes, boat traffic and how to self/assist rescue.
Approximate distance to be covered 10-14 miles.

We will be crossing boat channels, please stay together and cross in a pod so we are visible to the boat traffic and give them a way around us.

Weather can change at any time so please be flexible as paddle conditions can change.

Bring water, lunch, snacks, change of clothes anything you need for a day trip. Pack a change of clothes in a dry bag in your kayak.

Waivers must be signed if you haven't paddled with us this season. My cell if needed (845) 548-2198.

Please be kind, anyone who signs up and is a no-show w/o changing their RSVP will be put on a waitlist for future outings and only allowed if space permits.

Here is the anticipated weather for tomorrow, Air Temp 79-81 F, sun with clouds, 5% chance of rain from 2 -3pm, winds S 6 mph changing to SSE 8 mph. Max gusts 16 kts, there will be some wave action so be prepared. Our direction will depend on conditions.
Please bring a change of clothes in a dry bag, we will have the opportunity to wash our boats when we are finished. Don't forget to have $7.00 cash for the use of the facility. We will have Liquid Skies waivers for those who are new and everyone will sign a Touring Club waiver of City Island. Lets have a great paddle day. Unload your boat at the club and then park or find a spot and wheel your boat to the club. Please don't block the area by the club. Thanks everyone.
