Paddle to Kingston beach, Rondout Lighthouse & up the creek!

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE POST BEFORE JOINING!

Labor Day Paddle:
Please get there early to be in the water at 10:45 am. Do not block the launch area, Leave your boats on the side and then park your cars. Wheels/carts helpful.

Sea kayaks only 14' minimum. No SOT's, SUP's, rafts or pets. Surfskis OK. Everyone is responsible for themselves, you should know how to assist/self rescue. Please bring your radios if you have them.

We launch from the Rhinecliff train station and cross the Hudson River going north to sandy, Kingston Beach for lunch. Rest rooms available. Then we paddle south to the Rondout Lighthouse up the Rondout Creek. The Rondout creek has many interesting old retired boats, sea plane, like a small ships graveyard. There is a lovely waterfall at the end of the creek.

Approximate trip distance 8 miles. There is an option to stop at the Maritime Center on the right side .09 miles) You can wait for us at & we'll pick you up on the way back. If you haven't been to the Maritime museum it is worth seeing. Bring money for admission. Let me know if you want to stop there as I have to get permission prior to the day we launch.

Pack extra clothes in a dry bag. Bring water, lunch, sunscreen etc anything you need to be comfortable.

When crossing the Hudson I would like us to stay together in a tight pod.
