Sorry for the last minute notice but the weather is looking to be in the 60's and sunny on Monday, possibly our last chance to paddle the sound before the cold sets in.
Please get there early to park, change and be ready to launch at 12:30 pm.

This is a very scenic paddle of islands, a light house, shore birds depending which direction we go. In the past we saw dolphins & occasionally seals. Please be flexible, conditions determine our diretion. Tides at New Rochelle - Hi tide 5:32pm, 7.48'; Lo tide 11:38am, 0.79', ebb 2:02 pm, slack 12:20 pm, sunset 5;58 pm, moon full.

Meetup will not let me change the map pin. The kayak dock is near the exit of the Orchard Beach parking lot on Park Dr.
Bathrooms are by the boardwalk to the right of the playground go there 1st after entering and then proceed to the launch area. Unload your boat on the side in the grass, do not block the launch area, then park your car in the lot.

Intermediate paddlers only please, sea kayaks 14' minimum. No SOT's, SUP's, Inflatables, rafts, or pets - surf skis OK. You should be able to paddle 10 miles in a day at a pace and know how to paddle with waves, winds, wakes, boat traffic and how to self/assist rescue.
Approximate distance to be covered 8-10 miles.

We will be crossing boat channels, please stay together and cross in a pod so we are visible to the boat traffic and give them a way around us.

Weather can change at any time so please be flexible as paddle conditions can change.

Bring water, lunch, snacks, change of clothes anything you need for a day trip. Pack a change of clothes in a dry bag in your kayak and have a polar fleece to keep warm in case of a swim. Dress for immersion.

Waivers must be signed if you haven't paddled with us this season. My cell if needed (845) 548-2198.
