**MOONLIGHT PADDLE + Night Paddling Safety Session!**
Let's paddle through the sunset and then under the night sky, lit up by the full moon. This May "Flower Moon" will be an awesome way to experience nature in a totally different light – literally! As part of our National Boating Safety week, we will be sharing night paddling safety tips that many of us learn the hard way, if at all. Join us for a great time and great info!

Night paddles are a beautiful, peaceful experience, and Blue Springs Lake is especially pretty with scenery from rocky cliffs to a bird-loving creek area and a great view of sunset. The sun sets at 8:30 so we'll paddle until around 9:00 or 9:30.

This is a great excuse to buy your Jackson County, Missouri boat permit early, and get your lights set up for many paddles this year. **LAUNCH TIME**
7:00 at the Marina boat ramp. Please group to one side or the other while unloading quickly, then move your vehicle so others can access the busy boat ramp.

**BRING**

* Your own kayak, SUP or canoe. Inflatables and folding kayaks will need to be careful in the area with submerged trees, but it's do-able or you can hang out and wait for us to paddle the creek and return.
* Life jackets will be worn
* [White AND red/green lights](https://bit.ly/kayaklights) for your boat or board
* Light layer in case you get cool after sundown
* Water

**PERMIT REQUIRED**
[Jackson County Boat Permit](https://www.makeyourdayhere.com/Parks-Lakes/Boating-Marinas/Boat-Motor-Permits) is required and can be purchased at any Jackson County Marina (allow an extra 30 minutes if buying before launch). $30 annual for Jackson Co resident, $60 annual for non-resident. $30 daily. Includes Jacomo, Longview, Blue Springs and Prairie Lee lakes. The annual permit is a well worth the cost for 4 beautiful lakes and months of fun on the water, and funds support the parks.
