Keep Calm and Carry On - Barcelona's English-speaking sports and social community
New in Barcelona, or been here a while and still looking for your people? You are in the right place.
Keep Calm is a not-for-profit community for English speakers in Barcelona who want to stay active, make real friends, and feel at home in the city. We are created and run by the community, for the community: volunteer-led, no profit, no membership fees. In just over a year we have grown to more than 2,000 members, all brought together by sport and good company.
What makes us different
Barcelona is full of groups where you meet someone once and never see them again. We are built for the opposite. The members who stick around and give back become part of our "Core", the steady, familiar faces who turn one-off meetups into genuine, long-term friendships. Come for a game, stay for the people.
What we do
There is something on almost every day of the week:
Padel (our most popular sport)
Tennis
Beach volleyball
Ping pong
Running and monthly hikes in the Catalan countryside
Football, yoga, and ski trips in winter
Regular social events where members from every sport meet and mix
Who it is for
Everyone. Expats, internationals, locals, digital nomads, and anyone who speaks English and wants to belong. All skill levels are genuinely welcome, from complete beginners to seasoned players. You do not need a partner, a team, or your own equipment to join in. Whether you landed yesterday or have lived here for years, there is a spot for you.
Cost
Most activities are free or just a few euros to cover court hire. There is no membership fee. Everything is run by volunteers and nothing is for profit.

Sunday Padel - All Levels 🎾
Barcelona, ES🎾 Barcelona's friendliest padel, every single Sunday.
This is our biggest activity for a reason. Beginners who have never held a racket, advanced players chasing a smash, and everyone in between, all on court together, all in English. No partner? No racket? No problem (rentals available).
Vote in the Saturday poll, get matched to a court at your level, play, then join us for drinks afterwards. Because here, the padel is just the excuse. The people are the point. Around €5-8 to play.
We are not-for-profit and volunteer-run, built for real friendships that outlast your first season in Barcelona, not faces you never see again.

Picture this: a net on the beach, the sea behind you, and a group of friendly English speakers calling you over for the next game. First-timer or seasoned player, you are in. Ball and net provided, just bring water and good energy.
Games run year-round (beach in summer, indoor in winter), and the WhatsApp group is where it all gets organised.

Swap the after-work scroll for a proper hit. Every Tuesday, English speakers of all levels meet for friendly, well-matched games in Cornellà. Play every week or just dusting off your racket? Both welcome. Around €8 to play.
