Who We Are: A social circle of lively and active weekend warriors, adrenaline junkies, fun seekers with an insatiable yen for fun, friendship, and adventures and living a beautiful glow up life with sass, spice, and flare through Group Recreation, Exploration, Adventures and Travel (G.R.E.A.T, get it?)!
Our aim: To build a welcoming group that will inspire, empower, and connect like-minded New Yorkers with uniquely exciting and engaging meetups that celebrate connection, joy, and movement, filled a hearty dose of goofy laughter and some colorful language along the way and all the fun you can handle
Our events: In this group, we will accomplish GREAT things! Climb that mountain! Book that ticket! Blaze that hiking trail. Take that weekend journey to explore a town you’ve never been to before. Try that new cuisine! Learn a new skill! Volunteer for a worthy cause! Hiking, walks in park, dining out, Broadway shows, museums, happy hours, movie nights, wine tasting, brewery tours, day trips, weekend getaway ... and for the adrenaline junkies, tell your fear to hold your beer because you’re about to jump off that perfectly good airplane … fly baby fly! We will do it all!
Our philosophy is simple … BE POSITIVE, HAVE FUN and ENJOY THE MOMENTS and memories we will be building together. You only have one life to live, so make the best of it!
Our events will be all over the map: throughout the five boroughs of New York City and beyond... north to Hudson Valley and Connecticut ... over the river to New Jersey ... east to Long Island ... south to Philadelphia ... all reachable by public transportation!
All are welcome regardless of age, race or creed. As long as you are open to adventures, possess a “wanna do” spirit, maintain a positive attitude and a willingness to try new things ... we want to meet you ...
So whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or a total beginner, don't be shy in taking that first step and come out and play with us and expand your social circle, step out of your comfort zone, embrace all that life has to offer with exciting and thrilling adventures and amazing fun with all your new friends. Keep Calm and Take a Hike at Mohonk Preserve
Port Authority Bus Terminal, 320 W 42nd St, New York, NY 10036, USA, New York, NY, USIt's the last weekend of summer! Let's get outdoors and take a hike at Mohonk Preserve reachable on Trailways bus out of the Port Authority Bus Terminal going to New Paltz.
AGENDA: We'll hike the East Trapps Connector Trail connecting to the West Trapps trail making it a loop hike.
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A MODERATELY STRENUOUS HIKE. Hike starts going up 270 STEEP stone steps. Please be honest with your hiking ability when signing up. We will go slow and will not leave you behind. You don't have to be an athlete to do this hike but you must be able to complete hike with any issues.
GETTING THERE: We're taking the Trailway bus from Port Authority Bus Terminal. The 7AM bus arrives in New Paltz by 8:35AM. One-way ticket is $26.00 (depends on how early you buy the ticket). Ticket can be purchased in advance at this link: https://trailways.com/
From the Trailways bus station in New Paltz, we'll then pick up the Nature Bus at 8:45am that will drop us off at the Mohonk Preserve Visitor's Center at 9AM.
Drivers: you can meet us at the Mohonk Preserve Visitor Center at 9am. Do your own research on directions and parking situation.
PACE: Hiking pace will be LEISURELY AND NO ONE WILL BE LEFT BEHIND. During hike we'll have lunch, water and snack breaks as needed; as well as taking time to savor the sights and sounds of nature, and most importantly, socialize with your fellow hikers. NO FAST HIKERS!
TOTAL MILEAGE: up to about 7 to 8 MILES
DURATION: We will be out for the entire day. But you can leave on your own at any time. We won't judge. Much.
AFTER HIKE, we'll allot some time to explore New Paltz and grab some local bites and drinks before heading home.
RETURN BUS: 6PM bus back to NYC.
WEATHER: as bus ticket is non-refundable, this meetup is rain or shine!

Moynihan Train Hall at Penn Station, 350 W 33rd St, New York, NY 10001, USA, New York, NY, USLet's take a fall foliage day trip heading north to upstate to visit the pretty village of HUDSON, NY reachable on AMTRAK out of Moynihan Train Hall at Penn Station.
AGENDA FOR TODAY: Lots to see and do. There's OLANA State Historic Park as well as the Rip Van Winkle Bridge and the Hudson River Skywalk. We'll also allot time to explore the town of Hudson. Bring an appetite! There are also many fine restaurants in town!

ABOUT HUDSON, NY: Bursting with restaurants and boutique hotels, Hudson is the ultimate car-free destination for the New Yorker who wants to dine like royalty without the hassle of the city. With hundreds of historic buildings, countless antique shops, a scenic waterfront, and cutting-edge clothing boutiques, it's a relaxing yet active weekend getaway. Hop on Amtrak at Moynihan Train Hall for two hours to Hudson Station, then walk just a few minutes into town. - The 7:15AM train out of Penn and arriving in HUDSON by 9:20AM. The train will drop us off right in the center of Hudson, NY.
- Return trains: book any return train of your choice. There's a 4:53, 6:57 and 8:03PM train back to NYC.
