About us

KENRIC Lesbian Social Group

Established in 1965, KENRIC is a not-for-profit membership organisation, run entirely by volunteers. It is the UK's longest-running social group for women identifying as lesbian.

Following the Supreme Court ruling on the Equality Act 2010, KENRIC held a consultation with members regarding membership criteria. The outcome of the consultation is that membership of KENRIC will only be open to biological women who identify as lesbian.

Membership applications are currently paused to allow time to prepare new policies and documentation to reflect the result of this consultation. Until then, current policies remain in place for all events.

KENRIC has been trans-inclusive since the mid-80s, and the outgoing Management Committee pays tribute to the significant contributions made by its trans members.
