Responding Effectively in Times of Crisis: Debugging the Source Code of Our Crises and Craziness with Roger Walsh

Given our social turmoil and imperiled planet, the gnawing question for each of us has become, “What can I do?” This is an invaluable question, but is best viewed as a starting point for a deeper quest. This quest begins by asking still deeper questions to find the responses that are most strategic and call us most deeply. It recognizes our current crises as expressions of underlying patterns which reveal strategic leverage points. It then simultaneously addresses both outer social change and inner healing and maturation, and thereby transforms contribution into the growth practice of sacred service, or as it’s traditionally known, karma yoga. This enables us to go out into the world to go deeper into ourselves, and to go deeper into ourselves to go more effectively out into the world. The result is an integrally informed reflection and integrally inspired responses.

Bio:
Roger Walsh’s journey has included earning advanced degrees… an M.D., Ph.D. DHL Doctor of Humane Letters from Australia’s Queensland University. Many may not know he came to the United States as a Fulbright Scholar. In the states, he became a professor of Psychiatry, Philosophy, and Anthropology at the University of California, Irvine. He has written five books…including the well-known (my favorite) Essential Spirituality and countless Integral and Transpersonal scholarly journal articles, which have received over 20 national and international awards. In his misspent youth, he held the world-high diving record and worked as a circus acrobat. Recently he graduated from the San Francisco Comedy College and then had an extremely brief and unsuccessful career as a standup comedian. Together with John Dupuy, he is cohost of the integral podcast, Deep Transformation: Self-Society-Spirit, which is ranked among the top 5% of English language podcasts (see link below).
