What we’re about
**Update April 15 2024: We are updating our Meet Up due to year-long errors, visit us at kindspace.ca for our in-person programs and their registration**
Founded in 1984, Kind gives people in Ottawa’s queer communities personal and peer support, as well as a physical space for people to understand and inhabit their particular identities with confidence and courage.
Kind provides anyone on the human sexuality and gender spectrum with resources, information and support. We provide services and to supports to our community and connect them to places and spaces. Programs, events and initiatives include youth outreach initiatives, and peer led discussion/support groups. Peer-led groups Kind runs include: Queer trans youth, Café Q, Polybilities, QueerAmore, GenderQuest, etc. that are powered by our volunteers.

GenderQuest is a support and social group for trans, non-binary, gender diverse and two-spirit adults. This is a diverse, peer-led social group for those at any stage of transition: come, share, learn, and socialize in a safer space. All trans, two-spirit, and gender-diverse people are welcome to attend, including those who are on their gender quest and are still figuring it out! Join Taryn and Sophie during the first hour for discussion and questions, with the remaining time for socializing and making new friends.
The first hour of In-Person GenderQuest is discussion space. There is one space for those who are starting their GenderQuest or Gender Transition, and another space for general discussion of things that impact trans and genderdiverse people. Then after a break, participants can meet and mingle, make new friends, play games and/or join smaller conversations throughout the space.
