Description
This is a pleasant walk on first the right bank of the River Thames, passing Royal Palaces and Parks as well as much medieval and modern history, then recrossing the river at Hampton Court. The walk is largely flat on mostly metalled surfaces.

There is a short connecting walk from Shepperton Station to Walton Bridge mostly on pavement. There are regular rest stops on the first two-thirds of the walk and good shopping on Shepperton High Street. Although we recommend you bring your own snacks.

IMPORTANT NOTES

On Sundays there is only one train an hour to Shepperton!
Catch the 09:48 that leaves from Waterloo to meet us at the station.
Shepperton is outside Zone 6 you will need a paper ticket or to pay with contactless…
If you would prefer to travel to Walton-on Thames and walk to the 30 minutes to Walton Bridge please let us know in the comments so we know to meet you there.
The walk can be cut short at Hampton Court where there are good transport links by train to Central London, and buses to Kingston and Richmond.

If you have any questions please make them promptly and leave them in the Comments. They are checked regularly. Please do not DM the Hosts.

The website thames-path.org.uk is an unofficial guide with a description of the part of the National Trail that we are walking divided over two adjacent sections.
