About us
Kirkland Kayak Polo is a unique game of water polo with Sit-on-Top Kayaks played every Wednesday between from 6 to 8 PM, mainly at Kirkland’s Marsh Park. We started playing as a group 30 years ago!
Kayaks and paddles are provided! All you need is the weather appropriate gear like wetsuit or waders in the colder months and a towel! Sign up, show up, we'll teach you the rules! We try and play year-round if there's enough players. We need minimum of 6 to play.
Steve "Worm" brings the boats and paddles. There is a $1/game Fee to help with gas. If you want to use cash, give it to him directly. $5/month is easier if you play regularly. Or use the donation button on the event page. And don't forget this Meetup has a $10/year member fee to help maintain the boats and pay for the meetup group itself. It costs $260/yr to keep it active.
Play as easy or hard as you like. Leave when you want. The goal of the game is to have a good time! Two teams, paddle to the ball, toss it around until you hit something. Preferably the opponents buoy(ˈbo͞oē,boi) Goal!
What's the score you ask?? We don't know, or we don't keep track, until time to go home. Then it's Win-By-Two!
Bring a PFD if you like. Wear a helmet if you like. You might get hit with a paddle but most likely not. I can't remember the last time someone got hurt, but this is a "play at your own risk" game.
Ask us anything else not covered here! We might know the answer!
Hope to see you at the game!
