Chalisas & Chai
Details
Join kirtan leader Parvati for this weekly gathering to sing the Hanuman Chalisa. Whether you already know it or not, the cadence of the music and the transliterated chant sheets will enable you to sing along without too much difficulty.
The Hanuman Chalisa is a 40-verse chant in praise of Hanuman, written in the ancient language of Awadhi. It invokes Hanuman as the very breath of Ram. Many believe that chanting this prayer gives us the strength to get through difficult times with compassion and grace.
"Every line of the Hanuman Chalisa is a Mahamantra."
~ Baba Neem Karoli (Maharajji)
This is a free event in the spirit of dana (generosity/giving freely). Donations joyfully accepted (cash or Venmo).
