What we’re about
Calling all passionate foodies, from home cooks & bakers to professional chefs, to share tips and tricks relating to cooking and baking with like-minded kitchen enthusiasts, whether you're just starting out or are looking to refine your knowledge and techniques!
Topics can range from an ingredients (different ways to prepare it, flavour combinations, etc), kitchen techniques (what’s worked or not), a specific cuisine, etc.
We hold a range of foodie events such as from talks with experts on special topics, outings at restaurants from a range of cuisines, informal catchups on various topics or even at home cookups where we share kitchen skills in situe (most recently we learnt knife sharpening and how to make saffron-infused tagliatelle pasta from scratch).
It's a pretty informal, fun and friendly group, open to all levels of kitchen adventurers seeking inspiration and a supportive community to help you develop your skills in the kitchen.

Foodie Camping Wknd - Bent's Basin (1-2hrs drive from Sydney), Oct31 - Nov2
Bents Basin Campground , Greendale,, Greendale, AUOur foodie camping weekends are always so much so we're going again this October in the wonderful shoulder season which should have less bugs and when it's not as hot !
Location is Bent's Basin Campgrounds, only a 1-2 hrs drive from Sydney.
Ok, so here's how it is going to work...
1. DURATION : You can arrive anytime during the weekend, so come for 3 or 2 days or even just overnight. We will be there for 3 days / 2 nights (but the timing is optional for you).
2. PAYMENT : Each person must arrange their own campsite booking (and car pass booking).
IMPORTANT : When you book, you pay the same amount for 2 people (if you indicate explicitly 2) vs 1 person, so we suggest partnering up with someone else so that you can split the cost by making 1 booking for 2 people.
Campsite Booking Link :
https://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/camping-and-accommodation/campgrounds/bents-basin-campground
Cost is $69.70 for 2 people for 2 nights (Tent, trailer, campervan or caravan option). Note that you don't need to pick a spot, we'll arrange it when we get there.Feel free to come on your own or invite a guest (if bringing a guest let us know via the RSVP confirmation).
If you're driving in, you'll also need to pay for day park fees x 3 calendar days if you're staying the full weekend, totalling $24.
You can use this day pass booking link, or follow the prompts after you book the campsite, or you can pay on arrival too.3. ACCOMODATIONS & GEAR : Each person arranges for their own tent & camping accommodations related equipment (sleeping bag & tea/coffee cups. I will have plates & cutlery).
If you're keen to come but don't have a tent, let us know -- We may be able to help with that.
4. FOOD ROSTER : We'll set up a schedule where people can put there hands up for making a breakfast/lunch or dinner (and call out if you need prep hands to help).
And for those who prefer just to help out throughout the weekend with cleaning dishes and/or prep, let us know too... there are always plenty of people who like to cook amongst us!
See the working food roster plan below.
5. OTHER ACTIVITIES : We're pretty informal... people can do whatever they like at any point. We're big campfire people, so we're going to make sure we have a fire going especially after dark. We'll definitely have some fun board games to enjoy. There is some wonderful freshwater swimming in the area and we may also see if there are local hikes around to help us build up that appetite again for the next meal too (optional to attend).
Note: When we arrive on the Friday, we're going to share where in the park we are located on this event page and/or at the campsite reception. And of course, we'll share contact info as well by email before the weekend so you also have a backup way to contact us if needed.
