When the turbulence of distracting thoughts subsides and our mind becomes still, a deep happiness and contentment naturally arises from within.
The meditation on the clarity of the mind is one of the How can we maintain our balance and equilibrium in these turbulent times? We are continuously exposed to bad news which makes us scared or angry, and we are constantly pulled into (mostly) digital “attractions” that promise happiness but only deliver more distraction and dissatisfaction. In this environment, it’s easy for hopelessness to take root.
In Buddha’s mind training instructions we find an ancient solution to these modern problems — a special training called 3 Objects, 3 Poisons & 3 Virtuous Roots which reveals how we can transform any situation into positive spiritual energy and intention. This practice reframes our perspective and replaces our default responses of anger, attachment and ignorance with a fluid, beneficial approach to whatever comes our way.
