About us
This group started in 1997 because we wanted to explore and learn about Kadampa Buddism and meditation and open this up for others. Since then we've grown into an active community. We are a diverse group of people all seeking to bring greater peace and happiness into daily life. We welcome everyone to join no matter your beliefs, background, or culture.

Meditations for World Peace
Kadampa Meditation Center Maryland, 900 E Northern Pkwy, Baltimore, MD, USThis class includes guided meditations, a teaching, and chanted prayers for world peace.
We can all do something to contribute to world peace! In this class, we are creating world peace in two main ways. We are making prayers together for world peace, and we are also creating inner peace. Without inner peace, outer peace is impossible. When we create peace within our own mind, it ripples out to create peace in our world.
“If everyone were to practice cherishing others, many of the major problems of the world would be solved in a few years.” -Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, How to Transform Your Life

The Transformative Power of Patience: A Saturday Retreat
Kadampa Meditation Center Maryland, 900 E Northern Pkwy, Baltimore, MD, USAnnoyance, irritation, and anger rob us of our peace of mind and happiness. When we feel impatient or irritable, we usually become impulsive, making mistakes in our relationships and our actions.
In today’s difficult times, we especially need the transformative power of patience. When we learn to practice patience, we can overcome these painful and destructive emotions even in the midst of difficulties. This practice frees our mind to find effective solutions to problems that we would not have thought of when we were angry.
In this retreat, our Resident Teacher will give practical advice on how to develop and strengthen our patient acceptance. With consistent effort, anyone can develop this ability. This brings more peace and happiness into our mind, making hard times easier to bear.
