Colorwork KAL Class

***This is a MEMBERS ONLY class for guild members of the Knerdy Knitters and Crocheters of the San Fernando Valley. If you would like to attend and are not currently a guild member, you can sign up here.

It's officially Fall in Los Angeles, and what screams cozy autumn vibes more than colorwork? Your resident knitting instructors, Virginia Van Osdel and Leigh Huggins, will be teaching you the basics of stranded colorwork this month via our next knit-a-long. This time, instead of sweaters and cardigans, we will be taking on hats - the perfect vehicle for beginning more advanced techniques.

Techniques to be covered include:
2 or 3 color stranded colorwork, either English (Leigh) or Continental style (Virginia)
Color dominance (i.e. how to hold the yarn to feature which color most prominently)
Catching longer floats via wraps or ladder-back jacquard

Materials will not be provided, so make sure to bring your projects!

For this KAL, you can choose ANY stranded colorwork hat pattern that you like. Here are a few that we suggest starting with:

We will meet at the Burbank Library:
110 N Glenoaks Blvd, Burbank, CA 91502

Parking:
There are lots on both sides of the library on E. Olive Ave and E. Orange Grove Ave. There is also some street parking.

Inside The Library:
The conference room is on the 2nd floor and is also referred to as their theater. When you enter the library, the steps are on the left side of the building.

There is no cost for this class but it is only for Members of the Knerdy Knitters and Crocheters of the SFV whose memberships are up to date.
