Let's make friends through international exchange!
Since October 2021, we have been holding events mainly in Osaka.
We mainly organize hiking (mountain climbing) and sightseeing tours, but we also organize karaoke parties, cooking, games, etc.
【Two policies】
(1) We do not discriminate participants or participation fees based on nationality, gender, or age.
(2) We exclude people involved in pyramid schemes (network businesses and chain sales transactions) to ensure that the event is safe and enjoyable.
In my experience of participating in various meetups for more than 5 years, I have seen many groups that discriminate participants based on nationality, gender, and age.
I have seen many meetups where the entry fee is different for Japanese and non-Japanese, where the entry fee is different by gender, where those over 30 years old are not allowed to participate, etc. I got tired of these things and started a new meetup by myself!
I want to participate! I want to make more friends! Nationality, gender, and age should have nothing to do with your desire to "join" or "make more friends!
I have had many bad experiences at other meetups where people I met at meetups tried to solicit me for pyramid schemes.
For people who genuinely want to enjoy the event and make friends, the presence of even one person involved in a pyramid scheme can ruin everything.
Therefore, I do not allow any person related to a pyramid scheme to participate in KOGEmeetup!
Even if there is no intention to solicit, no one related to the pyramid scheme is allowed to participate.

【About English level】
Other groups may have a limit on English level, but KOGEmeetup has no limit on English level. Beginners are also welcome to join.
The organizer is a beginner in the first place.
People often say, "Isn't he being modest? But it is not modesty, it is the level of the second semester of the first year of junior high school at most.
My English grade in junior high school was all 1. I managed to graduate from a high school with a deviation score of 39, just barely.
If you have the desire to enjoy English conversation, please join us, even if you are like me.
I can translate your questions in Japanese and beginner's English on the day of the event, but of course, I can translate your questions in messages before the event, so difficult English is no problem.
【About hiking and mountaineering】
The organizer was in the mountaineering club in high school and was the vice president, but practically the same as the head of the club.
In KOGE meetup, we basically do not conduct loose hiking for beginners, but rather intermediate level mountain climbing.
We go to well-maintained and well-known mountains, such as those for elementary school field trips, but even then, it would be hard for those who do not usually do any exercise.
Since this is not a loose hiking tour, we do not climb mountains in groups of 20 or 30 people. The maximum number of participants is about 12, as far as the organizer can see.
Please follow the instructions and precautions of the organizers during the tour.
For example, if you get carried away taking pictures and say, "Let's go!" but if you ignore them, it will become dangerous after dark.
We also ask for your cooperation in improving your manners, such as taking trash home with you.
In order to participate, you need to have at least a minimum level of knowledge and awareness about hiking.
For example, those who do not bring water or a backpack, or who want to go to a convenience store on the way or look for vending machines in the mountains, are out of the question.
Such insane people will be a nuisance to everyone else and will not be allowed to participate!
We do not allow late arrivals to catch up and join us, as this can cause trouble.
【About the tour】
The organizer was born and raised in Kansai and has lived in Kansai for most of his working life.
I know many places and events that only locals would know about.
I mainly choose such places, so I don't go to famous places very often.
I think that famous places will have more applicants, but I dare to choose places that are not famous, so I think that this tour is suitable for those who like such places!
【What kind of people are the participants?】
I think some people are wondering!
If it's a ratio of Japanese to foreigners, there are many foreigners. This is because the event is hardly advertised in other media.
In many cases, everyone except the organizer was a foreigner.
The foreigners are evenly distributed among Asians, Europeans, and Americans, so there is no particular country in which there are more foreigners.
The ratio of men to women is about 50-50, with most of the hikers being women and the rest being men and women.
The largest age group is in their 30s and 40s, about 60-70%. Participants range from elementary school students to retirees.
【When a member withdraws from a meetup group】
It is unpleasant to say, but we have had quite a few people withdraw from the group.
Especially in hiking, one person's selfish behavior can put everyone else in danger.
For example, leaving without telling the organizers or going home without knowing it is out of the question.
There were also those who annoyed the organizers and spoiled the overall atmosphere by constantly complaining about things that were out of their control, such as how hard it was to hike up hills or how hot it was.
There were also people in the past who annoyed not only those in the meetup group, but also other tourists who had nothing to do with the event, station staff, and store clerks.
They are the ones who try to get on a train or bus without buying a ticket, etc.
I guess they didn't read the explanation and thought that the participation fee included the train or bus fare, but if they repeatedly do such things, they will be expelled from the group.
国際交流で友達を増やそう！
２０２１年１０月より大阪を中心にイベントを開催しています。
主にハイキング（登山）、観光ツアーをしていますが、それ以外にもカラオケ交流会や料理、ゲーム等も実施しています。
【２つのポリシー】
①国籍、性別、年齢で参加者、参加費を区別しません。
②マルチ商法（ネットワークビジネス、連鎖販売取引）の関係者は排除し、安心して楽しめるイベントにします。
自分自身、５年以上、色んなmeetupに参加してきた経験上、国籍、性別、年齢で参加者を区別するグループを沢山見てきました。
日本人と外国人で参加費が違うとか、性別で参加費が違うとか、３０歳以上は参加出来ないとか、そういったmeetupが多く、それに嫌気がさして、新しく自分でmeetupを立ち上げました！
「参加したい！」「友達を増やしたい！」という気持ちに、国籍、性別、年齢は全く関係ないはずです。
また、他のmeetupではマルチ商法の関係者を排除しきれておらず、何度もmeetupで出会った人からマルチ商法の勧誘をされ、嫌な思いを経験しました。
純粋にイベントを楽しみたい、友達を作りたいという人にとって、マルチ商法の関係者が１人でもいると、全てぶち壊されてしまいます。
ですので、KOGEmeetupではマルチ商法の関係者の参加は一切認めません！
勧誘の意図がなくても、関係者は一切参加不可です。
明らかに勧誘でも、いつも「これは勧誘ではない。」と言い訳するからです。
【英語レベルについて】
他のグループでは英語レベルに制限を設けていることもありますが、KOGEmeetupでは英語レベルは無制限です。初心者の方も遠慮なく参加して下さい。
そもそも主催者が初心者レベルです。
よく「謙遜でしょ？」と言われますが、謙遜でなく、せいぜい中学１年生の２学期レベルです。
中学の英語の成績はオール１です。（中学3年の時、一学期から三学期まで全て５段階評価の１です！）偏差値３９の高校を何とかギリギリで卒業しました。
英会話を楽しみたい気持ちさえあれば、私のような方でも是非、ご参加下さい。
イベント当日のご案内は日本語と初心者英語ですが、勿論、イベント前のメッセージでのご質問は、翻訳出来ますので、難しい英語でも問題ありません。
【ハイキング、登山について】
主催者は高校で山岳部に入っていて、副部長でしたが、実質的には部長と同じでした。
KOGE meetupでは、基本的に初心者向けの緩いハイキングは実施しておらず、どちらかと言えば中級レベルの登山となります。
小学校の遠足で行くような山など、整備された有名な山に行きますが、それでも、普段運動をしていない方にとっては辛いと思います。
緩いハイキングではないので、２０人や３０人といった団体で山に登ることはなく、主催者の目が届く範囲として、最大でも１２人くらいとしています。
ツアー中は主催者の指示や注意事項を必ずお守り下さい。
例えば、写真を撮るのに夢中になって「行くよ！」と言っても無視すると、日が暮れて危険になってしまいます。
また、ゴミを家まで持ち帰る等のマナー向上にご協力お願いします。
参加にあたっては、ハイキングに関しての最低限の知識や心得が必要となります。
例えば、水を持ってこないとか、リュックを持ってこないとか、途中でコンビニに行きたがったり、山の中で自動販売機を探したりするような方は論外です。
そのような非常識な方は他の全員の迷惑になるので、参加不可です！
トラブルの原因になりますので、遅刻して追いかけての合流はお断りしています。
主催者は事故や怪我等のトラブルがあっても一切責任を負いません。
【観光ツアーについて】
主催者は関西生まれの関西育ちで社会人になってからも、ほとんど関西で暮らしています。
地元の人じゃないと知らないような場所やイベントを沢山知っています。
そういった場所をメインに選んでいますので、有名な場所はあまり行きません。
有名な場所の方が参加希望者は多くなるとは思いますが、敢えて、有名ではない場所を選んでいるので、そういった場所が好きな方には向いているかと思います！
【参加者はどんな人が多いの？？】
気になる方もいると思います！
日本人と外国人の割合なら、外国人が多いです。これは、他の媒体での宣伝をほとんどしてないからです。
主催者以外、全員が外国人だったというパターンも多いです。
外国人は、アジア人、欧米人、まんべんなく来ているので、特にどこの国の出身の人が多いというのは無いです。
男女比は、ハイキングの場合は女性が多く、それ以外のイベントの場合は男女、半々だと思います。
年齢層は、３０代～４０代が最も多く、６～７割くらいです。小学生から、定年退職された方まで、今まで沢山の方にご参加頂いています。
【meetupグループから退会になる場合】
嫌な話ですが、退会して頂いた方も今までに結構多いです。
特にハイキングでは１人の自分勝手な行動が、他の全員の危険に繋がります。
例えば、主催者に何も告げずにいなくなるとか、知らない間に家に帰るとかは論外です。
また、坂が多くてしんどいとか、暑いとか、どうしようもないことに対して文句ばかり言って主催者を困らせたり、全体の雰囲気を悪くする方もいました。
また、meetupグループ内だけでなく、他の全然関係ない観光客とか駅員さんや店の店員さんに迷惑かけるような方も過去にいました。
切符を買わないで電車やバスに乗ろうとする方などです。
説明を読んでなくて、参加費に電車代やバス代が含まれていると思っていたのだと思いますが、そのようなことを繰り返していると退会となります。
