Adopt-A-Highway & Adopt the Blue Kawaihae Surf Park Clean-Up!

Bigger and better than before!
This is our 2nd Adopt-A-Highway and Adopt the Blue cleanup!

Please join us for Kohala Divers conservation efforts as we continue to grow and expand our love for the ocean and land by cleaning the highway followed by cleaning up one of our adopted dive sites!

We start by meeting at Kohala Divers shop to prepare and brief our first event of Adopt-A-Highway. Briefing starts promptly at 8 am so arrive early to sign in and get things ready to start our clean up! Please wear close toed shoes, proper sun protection, and bring extra water! We will supply gloves, safety vests, trash bags, and some pickers as well. Drinks will also be supplied by us in a cooler.

The clean up should only last around an hour or so, then we will meet back up at Kohala Divers to prepare for our second event of Adopt the Blue at Kawaihae Surf Park! Please gather all gear/dive gear you may need! Tanks are supplied for free by Kohala Divers, you can rent gear with us if needed. Please drive all your gear over to the surf park, we will have tables set up and brief there!

Briefing for Adopt the Blue starts promptly at 11 am! We will have a sign in sheet/roll call for each diver that enters the water and comes out of the water. This will be buddy diving for the clean up! Each piece of debris removed from the ocean will be added to our worldwide data base for dive against debris! The dry group will do a beach clean up focusing along the rock walls that line the ocean!

Don't leave right away! We will be doing a potluck after!! Please bring a dish to share with everyone! BYOB if you like! Kohala Divers will supply paper plates, utensils, napkins, cups, and some beverages in a cooler! Prizes will be given away as well!
