Welcome to Hanyoung Vancouver, a friendly Korean–English language and culture exchange community in Vancouver.
Whether you’re fluent, improving, or just starting out, you’re welcome here.
You don’t need perfect English or Korean – just a real interest in learning, sharing, and meeting new people.
Over the past three-plus years, thousands of people have joined our meetups and made friends through Hanyoung Vancouver.

• Small Meetup (Wed)
  1. A smaller, calmer session with more focused conversations.
  2. Great if you want real practice, a quieter vibe, and slightly deeper chats.
• Big Meetup (Sat)
  1. Our high-energy weekly gathering with lots of chances
  2. to meet both Korean and international friends in one place.
• Bespoke & Social Events
  1. Special events like pub nights, game nights, café takeovers, boys’ nights, and more.
  2. These are more curated, social experiences with limited spots.
  3. In every format, we connect through language, culture, and good conversations – not dating.

👥 Our host team
Hanyoung is run by a nine-member host team with multicultural backgrounds.
We do our best to keep each session welcoming, safe, and well-balanced so that newcomers and regulars can all enjoy the space together.
🛟 Community safety
This is a language and culture exchange space – not a dating or pickup event.
Our guidelines exist to protect our members and keep things respectful for everyone.
Please:

1. Respect people’s boundaries – “no” always means no, and “maybe later” also means no here
2. Don’t make anyone feel uncomfortable, pressured, or creeped out
3. Don’t push for personal contact info (social media, phone number, etc.), especially in a one-sided way
4. If you’d like to stay in touch, only exchange contacts when both people clearly feel relaxed and comfortable about it

Harassment, persistent unwanted behavior, or clearly inappropriate conduct may result in being asked to leave the event and being banned from future meetups.

한국어와 영어를 자연스럽게 주고받는 한–영 언어·문화 교류 커뮤니티예요.
한국어/영어 실력은 전혀 중요하지 않아요.
완전 초보여도, 조금 어색해도 괜찮아요.
배우고 나누고 싶은 마음만 있다면 누구나 환영입니다.
한영 밴쿠버는 3년이 넘는 시간 동안 꾸준히 모임을 이어오며,
지금까지 수천 명이 다녀간 커뮤니티예요.
✨ 어떤 모임을 하나요?

• Small Meetup (수요일)
  1. 조금 더 작은 규모로, 차분하게 대화에 집중하는 모임이에요.
  2. 실제 회화 연습, 깊은 대화를 나누고 싶은 분들께 잘 맞아요.
• Big Meetup (토요일)
  1. 한국인과 외국인이 골고루 섞여 활기찬 분위기를 만드는 대표 정기 모임이에요.
  2. 한 번에 많은 사람을 만나고 싶을 때 좋은 자리예요.
• Bespoke & Social Events
  1. 펍 나잇, 게임 나잇, 연간 파티, Boys’ Night 등
  2. 조금 더 특별한 경험에 집중한 소셜 이벤트들도 가끔 열고 있어요.

어떤 형식이든, 이 공간은
“언어와 문화, 그리고 좋은 대화”로 연결되는 곳이지
데이트나 픽업을 위한 자리는 아니에요.
🧭 한영 밴쿠버가 사랑받는 이유

• 한국인·외국인 비율을 50:50에 가깝게 맞추려고 노력해요
• 처음 와도 금방 섞일 수 있는 따뜻하고 인클루시브한 분위기
• 로테이션과 미션 카드로 어색한 순간을 최대한 줄여줘요
• 자유롭지만, 전체 흐름은 호스트가 잡아주는 구조
• 호스트들이 테이블을 돌면서 계속 사람들을 챙겨줘요

👥 호스트 팀 소개
호스트 팀은 다양한 배경을 가진 9명으로 구성되어 있어요.
매 모임마다 밸런스와 안전, 분위기를 함께 책임지면서
처음 오는 분들도 편하게 섞일 수 있도록 계속 도와드리고 있어요.
🛟 커뮤니티 안전 규칙
이 모임은 언어·문화 교류를 위한 공간이며,
데이팅이나 픽업을 위한 자리가 아닙니다.
모두가 편안하게 있을 수 있도록 몇 가지 기본적인 약속을 지켜주세요.
• 상대의 경계를 꼭 존중해 주세요
“싫어요”, “괜찮아요”라는 말은 그대로 존중해 주세요
“나중에요” 같은 대답도 사실상 거절로 이해해 주시면 좋아요
• 불편함·압박감·크리피한 느낌을 주는 행동은 절대 금지예요
분위기를 망치거나, 누군가가 무서운 느낌을 받게 하는 행동은 허용되지 않아요
• SNS, 전화번호 등 개인 연락처를 집요하게 요구하지 마세요
상대가 불편해하는데 계속 묻는 행동은 삼가 주세요
• 연락처를 주고받고 싶다면
서로가 충분히 편안하다고 느끼고, 자연스럽게 동의가 오갈 때 가볍게 나누는 정도가 좋아요
괴롭힘이나 반복되는 원치 않는 행동, 부적절한 언행이 있을 경우
모임에서 퇴장 요청을 받을 수 있고, 향후 밋업 참여가 제한될 수 있습니다.
