London Kubernauts!

It's been a long time since our last get together! The time has come to change that!

We will start the evening with Alex Gonzalez (https://twitter.com/agonzalezro) talking about Flocker plugin in Kubernetes. Alex is an co-organizer of GolangUK (http://golanguk.com/) conference as well as Golang London User Group (https://www.meetup.com/Go-London-User-Group/) Meetup and all round Go hacker. He will talk about Flocker plugin in Kubernetes which he hacked on and which will be released in the next Kubernetes release.

Alex's talk will be followed by a talk given by the one and only Kelsey Hightower (https://twitter.com/kelseyhightower). Kelsey does not need any introduction to anyone even remotely involved in Go programming, CoreOS (https://coreos.com/) or Kubernetes project itself, but in case you are still wondering the best place to start is his Github profile (https://github.com/kelseyhightower/) and the latest talk he gave about Kubernetes at the Strangeloop conference (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pozC9rBvAIs). He will talk about bootstrapping etcd (https://github.com/coreos/etcd) with the Kubernetes Kubelet (http://kubernetes.io/v1.0/docs/admin/kubelet.html) for stability and performance. In his talk we will explore advanced etcd configurations tuned for performance and production workloads.

The last talk will be given by Ivan Pedrazas (https://twitter.com/ipedrazas) , another Kubernetes and Docker stalwart from Home Office (https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/home-office), who will speak about how to do CI/CD with Kubernetes.

Drinks are sponsored by uSwitch (http://www.uswitch.com/) who were kind enough to provide a venue on such a short notice. Huge thanks to the team over there! <3

Pizzas are sponsored by Cloudflare (https://www.cloudflare.com/) who have been kind enough to provide the sponsorship even on a shorter notice than uSwitch <3

The program is as follows:

7:00 PM Welcome drinks and pizza + socialising

7:30 PM Alex Gonzalez, Flocker plugin in Kubernetes

8:00 PM Kelsey Hightower, Kubernetes at scale: Bootstrapping etcd with the Kubernetes Kubelet for stability and performance
