About us
Due to the assumption that Tantra is all about sex I have hesitated in creating this group for some time now, however my personal interest in Tantra along with the experiences I have had connected to the practice of these powerful techniques have generated an enthusiasm which has completely overwhelmed my fear and inhibitions. Tantra utilizes sex as a way to shift energy within our bodies for the purpose of emotional release, increasing the magnitude and potency of orgasm and to vitalize the body; however it should not be forgotten that the overall intention of Tantra is to facilitate a merger with God/Source/Universe/infinity. Whether the practice is solo or with a partner the practice of Tantra will create an intimacy which connects one deeply with the vital energies flowing within and between individuals.
The word Tantra is so intertwined with sex because the system recognizes that sexual energy is simply spiritual energy when moving downward and concentrated in the creative sex center of the body. Part of my reason for changing the focus of this group is because I want to use words like 'genitals', 'anus', 'sex', 'sexual energy', 'orgasm', and 'ejaculation'. There is no denying it that sex is a huge part of almost every individual's life but almost every individual does not realize or has not had the opportunity to explore the expansive and spiritual aspect of sexual energy. My goal with this group is to offer individuals and couples the opportunity to practice the fundamental techniques often connected to Tantric systems. The classes I will offer are non sexual and no nudity will occur as this is not a sexual hookup group. The vast majority of Tantric practices may deal with sexual energy however this is done through exploring subtly and internally one's relationship and connection to this energy so that we can transform the charge into a higher spiritual vibration as the Daoists describe when referring to the conversion of 'jing' (raw sexual energy) into 'chi' (subtle pranic energy) into 'shen' or spirit. The overall focus with this group is about cultivating sensitivity.
Thank you for checking out the group and I hope to see you at an event sometime soon...
The classes will be taught by Akal who has been a Kundalini Yoga Teacher for about 18 years, a personal trainer for over 20, and a Tantric practitioner for over 10 years. He holds a Masters degree in Applied Exercise Physiology.
