At 9:00am we will be carpooling/caravanning to the Johnsondale Bridge. At 9:30am we will hike between 5 to 8 miles round trip on the scenic River Trail. The trail runs parallel to the river, and the elevation gain for this section is more than 700 feet. This section is an out-and-back hike.

Please note: this is a very rocky trail. We may have to rock scramble in places. If the rocks are wet, they become slick and the hike will be moved to Whiskey Flat.

Parking
We need to be very mindful regarding parking because there is very little of it at the Johnsondale Bridge. We are meeting at James Sierra Gateway in Kernville at 9:00am in case you need to pick anything up. If the Johnsondale parking lot is full, there is ample parking at the Brush Creek turnout. If you want to drive your own vehicle and park at Brush Creek, then we can shuttle you the half mile to the trailhead. Brush Creek is a big parking lot and there should be plenty of room.

Bakersfield hikers please arrange carpooling/caravanning to Kernville in the comments below.

Please, if you are sick in any way, stay home! The club is not equipped to render medical aid and there is no cell phone service at the trailhead or on the trail.
