Most of us spend a significant part of our day in a web browser. Every so often, we find ourselves wishing our favourite website had just one more feature. Chrome extensions give us the ability to add those features ourselves.

This month, Shriji will share a recent Chrome extension project he's been working on before walking us through building a practical extension from scratch. Together, we'll build a QR code generator that makes it easy to share the current page—perfect for presentations, demos, and events. Along the way, we'll also see how AI-assisted, spec-driven development can help accelerate the process by using a coding agent to implement a well-defined specification.

Whether you've never built a browser extension before or you're simply curious about how they work, this session is designed for web developers looking to get started. You'll leave with a working Chrome extension, a better understanding of the extension APIs, and hopefully a few ideas for ways you can customize your own browsing experience.

As always, it'll be a great opportunity to learn something new, exchange ideas, and connect with other developers from across the region.

Our sincere thanks to both Vehikl and JetBrains for sponsoring the event, and to SPUR Innovation Centre for providing the space. As always, pizza and non-alcoholic drinks are provided. Please RSVP so we have accurate numbers for the pizza order. As always, we'll conclude the evening with our monthly draw for a JetBrains license.

We hope you’ll join us on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. The event starts at 6:45 PM. Please note that the doors to the building are locked, but we'll have someone at the door from 6:30-6:45, and will have instructions on the door for anyone arriving beyond that. Please be patient, and we'll be down to let you in as soon as we can.
