About us

Kyoto Walks & Stories is a relaxed walking tour for visitors who want to understand Kyoto beyond guidebooks and rushed sightseeing.

This walk focuses on stories, context, and atmosphere rather than a fixed script or checklist of highlights. We’ll explore the Okazaki / Higashiyama area, combining well-known landmarks with quieter paths and places that invite explanation and reflection.

The pace is calm and walkable, with time to stop, observe, and ask questions. Along the way, I share cultural insights, historical background, and personal observations from a European perspective shaped by living in Kyoto.

This is not a language exchange, not a large tour group, and not a lecture.
It’s a small, story-driven walking experience designed for travelers who prefer depth over speed and understanding over ticking boxes.
