Long gone are the days of stuffing important documents into a metal cabinet in the back of the office. Now it's in a nested folder in some forgotten hard drive. Not to mention, figuring out where those documents are in the first place (what was that file name, anyway?).

Thanks to the digital age, electronic file storage, and naming/organizing your components properly is as much of a thing as is getting those tingly feels from finding the right shade of blue (ahh cerulean!). But let's face it. Too many of us name our design files RedesignfinalFinal2.xd. But did you know there is a better way to store design files? I’m not talking about color-coding the digital folders on your desktop either. I’m talking about creating a system to name and save all of your documents online, by properly naming layers, artboards, and components.

Consider this an upgrade—It’s called file hygiene. We’ve got the perfect person to explain best practices to you. Aaron Zimlich will be speaking about the nitty- gritty of file management habits from grouping, to naming conventions, to versioning, and much more. Learn to keep your files clean and avoid projects from being in an entanglement (Jada Pinket-Smith style).

Learn how to name and organize your design work and save your colleagues and future selves some headache.
