Nightlife @ CA Academy of Sciences: Mind-Body Theme-DJ QBert Album Release Party

MIND and BODY Theme!  Tea tastings, music and light sculpture, yoga workshop, guided meditation with audio/visuals, therapeutic foods, medicinal plants, and album release party for DJ QBert! More below pictures. My 40th birthday is right around the corner, so come celebrate with me!

Immerse yourself in cerebral science this week as NightLife gets inside your head.

In the planetarium, join a guided meditation led by neuroscience guru Dr. Philippe Goldin of Stanford University and get a closer perspective on human brains (even your own!) with a special fulldome audiovisual presentation at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 pm.

And because NightLife knows that music feeds the mind, catch a special set by turntable master and hip hop pioneer DJ Qbert. Hailed as one of the most prolific DJs of all time, DJ Qbert’s Extraterrestria (Thud Rumble), his first album release in 17 years, transcends the boundaries of turntablism and features the likes of Kool Keith and Chad Hugo (N.E.R.D.), among others.

In African Hall, get your zen on with a yoga workshop taught by Integral Yoga Institute and pick up tips on the therapeutic benefits of holistic nutrition with tea tastings hosted by Bauman College.

Plus, hear medicinal plant expert Tellur Fenner discuss edible and medicinal plants found along the California Coast and what their healing powers mean for us.

Use your brain to power the sights and sounds of "Translation of Vibration" from the creators of NeuroDisco, a mind-controlled music, visuals and live dance experience.

Every Thursday night a new adventure unfolds. Set out with friends on a journey to the stars and to the depths of the sea with a cocktail in your hand and wonder in your eyes— only at NightLife at the California Academy of Sciences. 21+ A variety of food options are available each week at NightLife from 6-9:30pm.

Tickets only $12 dollars on Thursdays! You can buy them here or at the door.  http://www.calacademy.org/events/nightlife/

Lots of Food and Drink Options!

See you there!
