What we're about

We are friendly women of all ages, located in the Bend, Oregon area! If you like to laugh, have fun, and talk, you'll connect with other Ladies And Friends members. We invite all women (and sometimes friends / spouses / significant others) for activities and get-togethers during weekdays, and sometimes on weekends.

Our activities include coffees, luncheons, discussion groups, walks, wine tastings, book clubs, exercise, sports, day trips, and social get-togethers. Any member of our group can suggest and post an event. Just talk to Alma (Organizer), or PJ or Diane (Co-Organizers).

New members can do a trial membership for 30 days to check us out. Then, we have $5 mandatory annual dues (which are non-refundable). To learn how to pay, go to the Message Board section and look for the discussion on how to pay dues.

1) PHOTO REQUIREMENT

We require that all members post a recent close-up photo of themselves, so we can recognize Members at events. Sometimes we carpool, meet in public places, or open a member’s home for an event. Photos are intended to promote safety for all of us.

If you don't know how to download a photo to the Meetup site, contact one of the Organizers for help.

2) CANCELLATION POLICY & RSVP POLICY

CANCELLATION POLICY

Ladies And Friends has a firm cancellation policy. If you RSVP for an event, you are expected to attend.

If you cannot attend, you must update your RSVP at least 24 hours before the event (some events require more than 24 hours - read each event descriptions).

If the cancellation deadline has passed but an emergency or an unforeseen circumstance prevents your attendance, you must:

- update your RSVP, and

- contact the event host immediately.

Frequently, event hosts attempt to contact Members on the Wait List to let them know they can attend, which can take a lot of time.

Failing to:

- attend an event although the Member has RSVP'd yes,

- cancel 24 hours in advance (or longer as required by the event), or

- contact the event host prior to the event start time about not attending

counts as a “No-Show."

If a Member is "no-show" for three events, that Member is removed from the group. Please know that while Ladies And Friend does try to be understanding about special circumstances, we have enforced this policy.

RSVP POLICY

In the past, we have had Members attend events even though they have not RSVP'd for an event.

If an Event Host limits attendance at an event, we expect Members to respect that attendance limit. If a Member attends an event (particularly with limited attendance count) but is not on the RSVP List, then attending that event will count as a violation of the Ladies And Friends Guidelines.

Three combined violations of the Cancellation Policy or RSVP Policy will result in a Member being removed from Ladies And Friends (for example, late cancelling on two events and attending one event but not listed on the RSVP list). Again, while Ladies And Friend does try to be understanding about special circumstances, we do enforce these policies.

3) SOLICITATIONS

With the exception of official event sponsors, no business solicitations or activities are allowed at any of our events. Anyone interested in becoming a group or event sponsor, please contact Alma.

4) RELEASE OF LIABILITY

By attending any Ladies And Friends event, you agree to hold Ladies And Friends, its organizers, and its event leaders, harmless from any liability resulting from any injury or property damage. Your RSVP and/or attendance signifies that you agree. The Release of Liability form is posted in the Pages Section of the Ladies And Friends Meetup site.

5) PARTICIPATION

We strongly encourage member participation. We will help you think of an event, find a location, set up the event page, and manage the event. Just let us know what ideas you have! Contact Alma (Organizer), or PJ or Diane (Co-Organizers).

6) 10 ESSENTIALS LIST

For activities that involve hiking, boating, or the backcountry, the 10 Essentials could be used to prepare you for an accident, an emergency, and your general well-being. The Ten Essentials is posted in the Pages Section of the Ladies And Friends site.
