LADOTNET Master Series: PhoneGap in a day with Troy Miles
The Master's Series is a hands-on lab, lecture and training.
The event is a 8 hour training with breakfast and lunch served. Attendees are required to bring their own laptop and participate.
Troy Miles is a designer and developer of software since 1979, he began his career writing games in assembly and C. Since then he has written code in C++, C#, Objective-C, Java, JavaScript and even a smidgen of Python. Along the way, some of his titles have won awards, he became a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer, and in 2012, he won a developer challenge at a local Microsoft Windows Phone Unleashed event.
His passion since 2007 has been mobile and mobile web development. In 2011, he joined the mobile development team at Kelley Blue Book. His small team is responsible for the KBB.com application for iPhone, Android, and Windows Phone 7 and the mobile versions of KBB.com. Troy also spends time talking to developer groups and maintaining his blog, The Rock n Coder (http://therockncoder.blogspot.com/). This is an all day course focused on building good PhoneGap applications. This is not a class for newbies or those wanting to learn programming. It is intended for those who have some programming experience and some knowledge of JavaScript or other curly brace language. This class is hands-on and focused on development. You will write code, not watch slides.
You will leave this course with a confident knowledge of PhoneGap. You will learn JavaScript best practices, how to integrate popular libraries into your apps, using GPS and Google Maps, using HTML templates, and more. All of the sample code used in the class is yours to keep and use.
